Individual Mound Information
Mound A:
Mound A, 25-feet high from bottom to top, is the highest
mound on the site. Its shape is pentagonal. The summit of mound A is a
flat about a quarter of an acre. There is an evidence of 3 dwellings on
the mound summit. There are also two acres ramps facing mound B and plaza
on the face of mound A.
Mound B:
Mound B, located 200 feet west of mound A, is elongated
and rounded sharp. The area of mound B is 125 feet length times 60 feet
wide times 10 feet high. Mound B is the only mound where burial remains
were found.
Mound C:
Mound C, located east of plaza, is one of the two mounds
which are altered by farming. Mound C is circular sharp with a fairly level
summit.
Mound D:
Mound D, located directly across plaza from mound A and
mound B. Mound D is pyramid sharp with a flat summit and is about 8 feet
high.
Mound E:
Mound E, located right next to mound D is a largest mound
on the site. Mound E is pyramid sharp with a flat summit.
Mound F:
Looking over creek, mound F is located about 300-feet
south of mound B. Mound F is circular sharp about 100 feet in diameter
and about 3 feet high. This mound has walls for protection.
Mound G:
Mound G, located on western edge of site facing the lake,
is pyramid sharp with a flat top. It is 10 - 12 feet wide from Chattahoochee
River to Rood Creek.
Mound H:
Mound H, located on the northeast edge of the site, is
the one of the two which are altered by farming. Mound H is round mound.
