Fort Mountain State Park is located in the Chattabooche National Forest, in Murray County, 7 miles east of Chatsworth.

The Park has a total area of 1,932 acres and was donated to the Federal Government in 1929 by Ivan Allen. In the early 1940's the United States Department of Interior turned the land over the State of Georgia.
