Descriptions of Assignments

In 700 Speaking, we do several kinds of activites that allow students to experience different types of speaking.  Several of the speaking activities are practice for formal  presentations.  This is the type of speaking that students will later do in  business or higher education.  In addtion, the course includes some activities for daily language use.  These activites call for more spontaniety and a less formal vocabulary. These activites don't cover every type of speaking situation, but they cover a big enough range to give students several different types of speaking experiences.
