Julie's Biography

In the past, the most interesting thing in my life was education. I have paid attention to studying since I was young. I loved to read many kinds of books when I was a child. My mom told me that she was surprised at me because I could read a newspaper when I was 5 years old. I studied in boarding school until I finished my junior high school. Then I moved to new high school for 2 more years. After that, I became an undergraduate and my major was law. Actually, I wanted to study in architecture, but my score in drawing is not good enough. Therefore, I wasn’t admitted to the architectural program. During 4 year in law school, I found out law was a more and more suitable major for me. Moreover, I learned how to think in systematic and logical. Studying law challenged me more than what I had expected. Finally, I was happy to study in law.

In present, the most interesting thing in my life is new experiences. Some example of learning from new experiences include being courageous about participating in class, going out to join new people, and not relying on other people. Before I came to Atlanta, I had made up my mind I would be a more curious person that I was in Thailand. America has many wonderful things, and there are a lot of people who have an open mind. It is a good opportunity for me to try new experiences. Right now, I am studying at the Georgia Tech Language Institute. This program has opened my mind. I have a lot of friends who come from different countries. I can learn new languages and new cultures everyday. I like these friends a lot. Moreover, Georgia Teach provides optional activities such as the Amigo program, hiking activity, conversation class, and TOEFL class. If I lived in Thailand, I would pay extra money for these programs. Finally, I am happy, and I love my life in Atlanta.

My future plan is to study for a master’s degree. The most important reason for this is that I want to apply for a master of law in Emory University. In the near future, I will make an effort to get over 600 on the TOEFL test. If Emory University doesn’t accept me, I am going to study in another state, like Indiana University in Bloomington or at Tulane in Louisiana. Actually, I have the idea of studying for a second master’s degree too, but I am not sure that I will be qualified. If I can study it, I would like to study psychology. I am very interested in this one. After that, when I finish my master’s degree, I will go back Thailand. I want to work in an international law company. I want to help my native country.
