I grew up in a typical Korean home. I was born in Korea in 1983. My father worked at a bank, and my mother was a housewife. There was one brother already in my family when I was born. He was 1 year old at that time. When I was child, I always played and competed with him. When I was 6 years old, my sister was born. I went to kindergarten, elementary school and middle school with my brother. I learned many things from him. For example, he taught me math and science. When I was an elementary student, I hardly studied. I spent lots of time playing with my friends. It was a very happy time without any anxiety. After I entered middle school, I started studying hard because high school students usually study very hard in Korea. After I spent most of time studying, I graduated from high school. Now, I am concentrating on learning English. As soon as I graduated from high school, I came here, Georgia. Then I am studying English in Georgia Tech. I live in my aunt's house where two children and my sister live. They can speak English very well because they have lived for about 3 years in America. So, they sometimes teach English to me. Although I am studying only English, I felt difficult to study. I have not enough time to do other things. There is a lot of homework, and I have to memorize English words because I don't know enough English words. In this year, I will study English only. After I finish the English course, I will test SAT and TOEFL. I will enter the GT and major in computer science. So, I want to finish this English course as soon as possible. After I graduate from the university, I will go graduate school. But I have a duty to Korean army. I'm not sure my duty of Korean army because I don't want to enter the army. I want to get married before I'm 30 years old and to have two children who are one boy and one girl. I want to get a job and have a happy life with my family. Written by Seung-hun Eedited by Taku |
